Junior Church

Due to COVID-19 this group is currently unable to run, but we are actively looking at creative ways to reach out to the community. Please follow our Facebook page for the most up to date information

We recognise how important it is for children and young people to have an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a way that is fun and meaningful for them, so twice a month we host Junior Church during the 11am service at St Mary's. This provides two groups: "Explorers" for those children under 10 years and "Pathfinders" for those age 10-16 years. Parents of young children are welcome to stay in the Explorers session.

We aim to provide a welcoming space where no question is too silly to ask and where all are encouraged and accepted. The sessions are run by a team of St Mary's volunteers, all of whom have completed DBS safeguarding checks and training. We use Scripture Union material to support our learning: the Bubbles series for the Explorers group and The Grid series for Pathfinders. These provide creative and thoughtful ways to explore Bible stories and contemporary life in the context of the Christian faith as well as providing space for friendship, and fun.
